Montagu Evans Ltd is an independent property consultancy based in the UK, established in 1921. The firm is owned and managed by a group of partners who are leaders in their respective fields and committed to delivering quality work that benefits clients, the built environment, and society.
The outdated website functionality led to poor user experience and a low overall conversion rate, hindering the team’s ability to meet business goals effectively. The menu navigation was not user-friendly and repeatedly resulted in errors, adversely affecting the website’s performance. Additionally, the Blog CMS suffered from poor UI design and weak SEO, missing essential features like topic tags, search functionality, article filters, and webpage pagination.
To modernise the website functionality, I redesigned the web user interface with updated, user-centric features, focusing on speed, accessibility, and mobile optimisation. By simplifying the sitemap architecture, I added the navigation structure to make it more intuitive, reducing the number of clicks to reach key areas of the website. In addition, I improved the CMS interface for better usability, by implementing easy management of articles, media, and categories (topic tags, article search filters, and pagination).
I strengthened the brand's visual identity through tailored assets for the Hero page, Blog section, and CTAs. The client's openness to design exploration allowed me to apply best practices, resulting in a final website that surpassed their expectations.
Working with Montagu Evans Consultancy in collaboration with Realityhouse Limited was a great opportunity to showcase my UX skills. With my experience in web design and understanding of HTML & CSS constraints, I was able to identify potential obstacles early and clarify requirements with both the client and development team to streamline user flows.
During the project, I learned the importance of asking questions to guide the client effectively, addressing aspects that hadn’t been initially communicated, such as content optimisation and user-friendly navigation. Please, check out the live website.
